Small-group city tour with hotel pickup

Tours Northwest collects you from most downtown hotels for a three-hour loop with stops at Pioneer Square, the Ballard Locks and Kerry Park, 14 guests at most. Pick it if you want hotel pickup without a four-hour day, or if someone in your group uses a wheelchair.

Small-Group City Tour with Hotel Pickup

About this experience

Same company as the Premier 3-Hour City Tour, a smaller vehicle, and your hotel as the meeting point. The listing gives three hours, a 10 AM start and pickup from most hotels in downtown Seattle. Airport-area hotels aren't covered, per Tours Northwest's own page, and some hotels are hard for a bus to reach, so you may be asked to wait at a neighboring one. Not staying at a listed hotel? You meet at the Hyatt Regency's 8th Avenue entrance, 808 Howell St.

The stops: 15 minutes in Pioneer Square, 5 each at Waterfall Garden Park and the Klondike Gold Rush park, 15 at the Ballard Locks, 5 at Kerry Park and 3 at Seattle Center. Pike Place Market, the waterfront, the stadiums, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Fremont and the Space Needle go by the window. Guests report it feels mostly like a drive with two longer stops, and one wanted more photo breaks. Others got a bonus stop at the Fremont Troll.

It's the only city tour here that the listing calls wheelchair accessible, transport included. The company's own page is more careful: a folding wheelchair may fit, storage is limited and there's no bathroom on board, so call before you book. Tours Northwest also warns that return times can slip between 3 and 7 PM in traffic. On a 10 AM tour, that rarely bites.

★★★★★

Wonderful tour of Seattle! Carl made sure we saw everything we could pack into 3 hours, while still giving us ample time to enjoy each stop.

We went from the heart of the city to the outskirts as well. There were breaks which allowed us to get off the bus, take pictures or just rest and use the restroom. I would highly recommend this tour. Three hours well spent.

John was so great! Super knowledgeable. It's worth getting picked up at your hotel. Great way to see Seattle if you don't have lots of free time.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone on their first day or first trip to Seattle, as it’s a perfect overview and helps you decide which places you’ll want to return to for a deeper dive later in your visit.

Tips before you book

  • Confirm your hotel and pickup time by phone or email at least 24 hours ahead. The listing asks for it.
  • Be in the lobby early. Tours Northwest says the bus can't wait beyond the pickup time.
  • Can't hear the guide at the back? Ask. One guest reports headphones were handed out.
  • Booking direct costs about the same: the company lists $114 for adults and $99 for children 3 to 12.
